The Penelope Wright house

We're moving closer to Juniper Valley Park and also in the direction of another interesting-looking home. Here we have a house at the corner of 74th Street and Penelope Avenue. It looks like something Frank Lloyd Wright may have designed while a budding architect.

That looks like a building from the socialist era in Eastern Europe, something like a youth hostel or sanatorium...

How many families are living in this one? Or.....is it a medical office? Whatever....it is ugly!

Actually I like this house - it is less objectional than the fedders 3 families that they now carve out and put 100 people in them. I don't like that the building uses the entire footprint of the plot. It could be worse.

This house always used the same footprint, from when it was originally built years ago. The owner added a second floor, to the original structure, a few years ago.

While I lived in this section of Queens for five years, this building had a very modest exterior until the owner modified it signifigantly

I like the way the roof looks - if the porch/balcony was in the same/similar material and a nicer railing put on top it would look much more cohesive.

It doesn't have the Wright proportions .
